A High Sensitive Person (HSP) needs time to think deeply and process information. HSP’s need time to reflect and weave together their experiences. You might find yourself in agency environments that stress you out and cause an internal reaction. HSP’s need time to withdraw and replenish their energy. You are highly perceptive and understand someone’s or the mood of an environment, which can drain your energy at times. You do not miss a beat. You feel intensely and are deeply moved by nature, creation, and beauty.
HSP’s are good judges of character, can see connections that others might miss, are reflective, and are self-aware. HSP has a remarkable capacity for therapeutic skills and helping others. Being an HSP in mental health agency work can be challenging because of unpredictable environments and unexpected changes.
You’re not alone!

You’re right, and this is a great question. There are a couple of reasons why finding an outside supervisor benefits your journey as a therapist.
Here are a couple of reasons:
Quality: I intentionally keep my practice small where I have the time to practice stellar self-care and be fully present with you and your clients.
Consistency: I’m able to offer consistent weekly supervision appointments. I’m able to review and sign your hours for licensure. Supervision appointments are 50 min.
Expertise: Sometimes, in agency work, you might get matched up with a supervisor that does not share the same training and experience that you might be interested in. Supervision with me can offer you in-depth experience and knowledge of specific modalities. Also, we’re able to help you create a therapy practice that takes your highly sensitive nature into account.
